Bargaining Update

On Saturday, Aug. 22, the Denver Classroom Teachers Association (DCTA) and Denver Public Schools (DPS) reached a tentative agreement in negotiations for return to work provisions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bargaining began on Wednesday, Aug. 19 with a Q&A between DCTA and the district. On Friday, Aug. 21, both DPS and DCTA exchanged proposals but agreed to resume bargaining on Saturday, Aug. 22. DCTA’s proposals for negotiation were centered on the following, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Social Distancing, Heat Related Closures, COVID Testing, Sick Leave, Cohort Size, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Teacher Facilities, SLT/DLTs, SSP Work Spaces, Student Discipline, Substitutes and Equity.
