About Collective Bargaining

What is Collective Bargaining?

Collective bargaining is the process in which educators, through DCTA, negotiate their collective bargaining agreement with DPS to determine their working conditions, including class size / workloads, pay, professional development, preparation time, benefits and more. The last time the DCTA Bargaining Team negotiated the entire collective bargaining agreement was in 2022.

When Does Collective Bargaining Begin?

The DCTA Collective Bargaining agreement will expire on August 31st, 2025. Negotiations will likely begin in the Spring semester of 2025. All scheduled bargaining dates can found on our DCTA Events Page as they become available in the future.
