DCTA Statement on the Passing of Dr. Sharon Bailey:

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we learn of the passing of Dr. Sharon Bailey. Dr. Bailey was a former school board member and instrumental voice for students and educators of color in DPS. She was the lead researcher in the ‘An Examination of Student Educator Experiences in Denver Public Schools through the Voices of African American Teachers and Administrators’ report. We thank Dr. Bailey for bringing light and voice to the many challenges that our students and educators of color face in Denver Public Schools. We know that Dr. Bailey has made an everlasting impact on our community and she will be greatly missed.
